Read on to know more of what is BYCH Hot yoga.

What is BYCH Hot Yoga?

BYCH Hot Yoga is a series of 26 postures with 2 breathing exercises practiced over 90 minutes in a room heated to 105ºF (40ºC). Each posture is designed to safely stretch and open the body in preparation for the next posture. Modern medical science has verified the efficacy of this specific sequence of postures.

BYCH Hot Yoga stimulates the organs, glands and nerves and systematically moves fresh, oxygenated blood to 100 percent of the body. It restores all systems to a healthy working order, just as nature intended.

Physically accessible to people of all ages, fitness levels and conditions, BYCH Hot Yoga leads to increased mental clarity and ultimate relaxation for practitioners by building a strong physical and mental foundation.

BYCH Hot Yoga’s classes focus on practicing yoga postures with precision, allowing the whole body to work together efficiently, promoting the healing process. Classes are intense; the mind learns to focus on one part of the body at a time, and nothing else.

This quietens down the mind, enabling practitioners to de-stress in class and experience calmness and serenity, even as they are sweating it out. It is a form of physical mediation.

To mark their eighth year anniversary, Bikram Yoga City Hall has announced today a complete rebranding which includes a new name, an upgraded website, additional classes and a new focus.

In celebration of its eighth year anniversary in March 2014, Bikram Yoga City Hall (BYCH) will be going through a complete rebranding. The refreshed brand identity is the first for the studio after having been in the local market for almost eight years.

BYCH are the very first to introduce Bikram Yoga in Singapore and are also the first authorised Bikram Yoga studio locally.

New and existing students can expect additional classes to be added to the schedule. Instead of the usual 56 classes per week, BYCH will increase that to 80 classes. On top of the BYCH Classic class, which features the traditional 26 Hatha Yoga postures done in a 40 Degree Celsius room and lasts for 90 minutes, BYCH will be introducing a 55-minute BYCH Cardio class. This class will only feature the standing postures of the 26 Hatha Yoga postures and is perfect for practitioners on the go. There is also the option for private classes and corporate team building sessions, which are by- appointment only.

Commenting on the rebranding, Ms Diane Lee, Director at BYCH explains, “Following a very successful eight years in Singapore, we are now ready to embrace a fresher and bolder identity. Our plans for the future also include conducting professional training classes for aspiring hot yoga teachers”.

With the new local policies on foreign hire, it has been rather challenging bringing in teachers from overseas. To ensure the studio maintains its’ standard and quality, they decided to have their own training programme to train local students to be qualified Hot Yoga teachers.

Hot Yoga will definitely increase with time. So if you think you can handle the heat, stop procrastinating and start practicing! To register for a trial class, please call the studio at 6339 6639.
